Advanced Culinary Program

This new international culinary program offers students the insight and opportunity to experience comprehensive learning about gastronomy and hospitality. Students will have the opportunity, after three months of studying culinary arts at Kul IN, to continue their education at a school in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Partner school from Switzerland, the Business and Hotel Management School offer students the opportunity to further develop their culinary skills and knowledge with the help of top-ranking lecturers from around the world. The program focuses on European cuisine, and aside from culinary arts, students will further their grasp of pastry, baking, wine tasting and management. As part of the program, the student will also learn German or French in order to prepare as much as possible for further education, practice.

The Advanced Culinary Program aims to provide the student with comprehensive knowledge on the culinary arts and the competence to work in high-class catering establishments all over the world. Through nine and a half months of  intensive work in the international environment, students will gain invaluable new experiences and intern in top restaurants and hotels in Switzerland.

Upon successful completion of Kul IN and B.H.M.S. programs students are awarded:

  • Professional Chef Certificate
  • Diploma in Culinary Arts

ABOUT THE B.H.M.S.

The B.H.M.S. International School is a school with a long tradition in training chefs and other hospitality professionals. B.H.M.S. is a member of the Benedict Switzerland educational group, which was founded in 1928 and is one of the largest private schools with more than 15,000 students attending each year. B.H.M.S. offers university programs and accredited programs in co-operation with the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) and Robert Gordon University in the UK.  The school is enrolling students from 80 countries, and it is in the top five best hospitality and culinary schools in Switzerland and the 31st school of that type in the world.

Studying in Sisak:

As part of a two-month culinary program, students will learn through intensive practical lessons. They will gain knowledge on basic culinary techniques, work with various ingredients and foods, learn to handle professional equipment, prepare a la carte meals and create menus. Over the course of the program the students will acquire the skills necessary to function independently and thrive in the professional kitchen. They will continue their education in Switzerland. Lessons and coursework are in English.

Studying in Lucerne:

The program lasts 15 more weeks and continues at the partner school, Business & Hotel Management School, B.H.M.S. in Lucerne (Switzerland). The program introduces the students to the world of food production and preparation, focusing on practical training and individual approach. During the program at B.H.M.S. students will acquire knowledge on the preparation of classic European cuisine, pastry, baking, wine tasting, and management. They will have the opportunity to learn from lecturers with international professional experience and from top experts in the field of hospitality. Lessons and coursework are in English.

Internships

Four-month internship period in Swiss hotels or restaurants is a compulsory part of the program and a compelling opportunity to gain work experience in renowned establishments, as well as receive first reimbursements during schooling. Internships provide the students with skills and knowledge necessary for thriving in the world of gastronomy.  The four-month internship period will be full of valuable experiences that will boost the students’ prospects for a career in the culinary industry.

Duration of the program: 10 and a half months

3 months at Kul IN + 15 weeks at BHMS + 4 months of internships
